Count & Sum by Color for Microsoft Excel App Reviews
Great Add-In
This Add-In is great! Worked as soon as I installed. AbleBits…More Please!!!!
App is great and works fine, but I don’t need it anymore and want to uninstall it. Unfortunately, this is impossible and I am stuck with the app. It’s showing in the Excel menubar and could not be removed, although the app itself have been uninstalled.
Doesn’t work
Can’t even apply the application to Excel, it immediately gives this error every time: "Run-time error 1004: Method Add of object AddIns’ failed"
The App Doesnt Even Open!
The app doesnt even launch. I tried everything to have it open and it still refuses to do so. All the criterias are met, and it still wouldnt open!
Worked great and was easy to use especially considering the lack of macros in OS X. Also appreciated it summarizing for me since my experience with pivot tables is quite limited. It does a good job quickly of what it claims to do. Nicely done.
All was going great, until I tried to run the calculations radio button….crash….wawawa. Really want to use this, so hopefully its just a bug and it will get fixed soon.
I schedule my weekly time slots by color. This gives a quick view of time blocked for each activity. It does not enter results into cells within the spreadsheet, only shows them in a pop-up window. If that is all you need, this is perfect! (If you need the count to appear within your worksheet look for a VBA solution.)
Not ready for prime time. If you value the integrity of your data and have a low tolerance for ambiguity (as this add-in requires the enabling of macros with full control), wait for an updated product. AgileBits is a fine company. I have conducted business with them for years. This product, however, is a true disappointment. It is clear that AgileBits is not serious about Mac product development. If you have any doubts, read their forums. I am disappointed, as I believe their tools for the Windows platform are excellent. At this point, the only option is to install a Virtual Machine, a current version of Windows, a current version of Excel for Windows, and a current version of AgileBits add-ins for Excel. That seems like an awfully complex workaround, not to mention a ridiculous allocation of limited system resources. I have a hunch that this add-in will work with an outdated version of Excel in OSX. Unacceptable. Please fix this, AgileBits. Don’t make us beg. Your products are excellent. Construct a spreadsheet and determine authoritatively that the Mac / OS X community is a statistically significant market :)
